Risking His Own Neck

To the co-workers in the Lord's recovery in Taiwan:

The responsible brothers in the church in Anaheim were deeply grieved to hear of the recent passing of our dear Brother Paul Wu to be with the Lord. For many years Brother Wu labored and served extraordinarily for the Lord, for the church, and for the ministry, often traveling here and there without counting the cost. He truly "risked his own neck" (Rom. 16:4). He poured out his whole life to the Lord and to the ministry of the age. Because of his special portion of service and coordination, the Lord's recovery has advanced greatly not only in Taiwan but also throughout Asia and even in many other places across the whole earth. In the seven conferences and trainings held each year, he was faithfully a constant attendant at every gathering, and he was an important positive factor in keeping the oneness of the Body of Christ and being one accord with the Lord's recovery. He was a special gift that the Lord gave to His Body; his faithfulness, labor, consecration, selflessness, magnanimity, insight, and prudence were all an example to all.

On the one hand, we feel the sorrow of parting; on the other hand, we thank the Lord, who has given our brother rest from his labor that surpassed that of all others. Even more, we desire, by the Lord's grace, to learn from the brother's example, to labor to serve the Lord and to serve all the saints; and we desire to encourage one another with all the co-workers to advance positively and diligently together for the going on of the Lord's recovery, for the victorious advance of the New Testament ministry, and for the building up of the Body of Christ.

May the Lord continue to be gracious to the churches in Taiwan, bless the saints there, and prosper the work there in many ways; and may the Lord comfort and encourage Brother Wu's family.
