The Churches in Canada

A Fragrant Sacrifice before the Lord

Brother Paul Wu served the Lord and the church for several decades with all his heart and strength, and under God's sovereignty he finished his course and departed. We deeply feel the loss.

We would briefly relate below the various aspects in which we benefited from Brother Wu's service:

First, he set up a beautiful pattern. For many years he steadfastly continued and, undaunted by hardship, went to all the places around the globe to attend the seven trainings and special meetings each year in the Lord's recovery, and he helped the co-workers and the churches on the island of Taiwan to be constituted with the Lord's present speaking in this age and to blend closely with the churches throughout the earth in the Body of Christ. The churches in Canada also received grace in this same flow.

Second, he was faithful to what Brother Witness Lee entrusted to him, diligently spreading the ministry books and publications in many ways. Besides personally promoting the Chinese editions of the Collected Works of Watchman Nee and the Collected Works of Witness Lee, he actively arranged for the serving brothers of the Taiwan Gospel Book Room to visit the churches around the globe to introduce and explain them, so that the Lord's speaking through His two servants could be supplied universally to the Chinese-speaking saints, and the churches were greatly blessed.

Third, he was very concerned for the Lord's move on the whole earth. He not only encouraged the churches on the island of Taiwan to pray for the spreading and to participate in overseas blending, but also, by sending out full-time serving ones, had a part in the gospel propagation move on every continent of the globe.

Fourth, through his coordination with the co-workers and the churches on the island of Taiwan, he had financial fellowship with the churches throughout the earth in the spreading of the gospel, becoming an important factor in building up the Body of Christ and hastening the appearing of the one new man. Many local churches in Canada thereby received grace and blessing. Among them, the churches including the meeting halls in Vancouver, Surrey, Richmond, Coquitlam, Calgary, Toronto, and Ottawa all received timely financial help from the churches on the island of Taiwan through their fellowship with the brother.

We thank the Lord for giving Brother Wu to the Body of Christ and for leading him in his diligent service. His giving—without regard for life or death and without counting the cost—was indeed a good pattern to all the saints. The value of his service will remain forever. His many helps to the churches in Canada have become a fragrant sacrifice before the Lord. May the Lord richly bless his family and the churches he served.

"…even as Christ also loved us and gave Himself up for us, an offering and a sacrifice to God for a sweet-smelling savor." (Eph. 5:2)
