Closely Following, Positive and Enterprising
Faithful and Prudent
It has now been more than twenty years since the Lord's servant Brother Witness Lee departed, yet Brother Wu still closely followed the leading of the ministry, having a part in the seven conferences and trainings each year, absolutely one with the ministry. In the matter of being positive and enterprising, Brother Wu was just like Nehemiah in the Old Testament, loving God and caring for God's interests on the earth; he always led God's people to have a part in the building up of God's house by setting an example himself and giving his all. In the matter of being faithful and prudent, disregarding his own weak and sick body, he was still wholly faithful for God's house and all of God's children, devoting himself utterly for the going on of the Lord's recovery throughout the earth!
In fact, my present memory of Brother Wu still rests at the spring all-Taiwan co-workers' perfecting training of February 5 to 7—this was also the last all-Taiwan co-workers' training he attended. Midway through, he even had to return to Taipei for dialysis and then hurry back to the central blending center. What impressed me most deeply was that in the last meeting, with his huge body he laboriously walked up the steps, and stood on the platform for nearly an hour and a half, patiently waiting for all the co-worker brothers to finish their testimonies, and then with all his strength gave the co-workers his concluding words. Looking back now, it was just like old Moses in Deuteronomy, especially toward the second generation of Israel, with his exhortation and charge before they were about to enter the good land.
Moses said, "Be strong and take courage, for you shall go with this people into the land which Jehovah has sworn to their fathers to give them, and you shall give it to them as an inheritance" (Deut. 31:7). Moreover, Moses also assured Joshua, saying that Jehovah would go before him and would be with him; not only so, Jehovah would not fail him nor forsake him (v. 8a). This was just like Brother Wu at that moment reminding us co-workers, "No problem! Everyone must still take up the burden and go on! The goal is almost reached!"
Brother Wu's concluding fellowship at this co-workers' training made me recall how, from 2003 to 2008, because of the brothers' encouragement, my newlywed wife and I seized a rare opportunity and were sent by the Lord far away to propagate overseas in India. After five years of overseas propagation, I personally had a breakthrough in language, treasured the ministry more, was renewed in vision, and was enlarged in service. Of course there were also many "sour, sweet, bitter, and pungent" environments in which I experienced Christ more subjectively, which are deeply imprinted within me even now.
