Living Out the Reality of Reigning in Life
In the matter of living a consecrated life for the Body of Christ, Brother Wu was especially practical and especially rich. He actually offered up his body.
At Hall One, I saw Brother Wu sweeping the floor at the entrance of the meeting hall. In his service the brother was not merely leading; even more, he set himself as a pattern, having a part in the service together with others. This left a deep impression on me: that the brother's reigning in life was by no means a matter of position, but even more a practical living. He practiced love, loving every saint. There was a saint who, while propagating overseas, met with a car accident and was taken by the Lord; in the memorial meeting the brother fellowshipped and wept bitterly, to the point of being unable to speak. The brother treasured every brother—not, as I had thought, because of a working relationship, but rather regarding each one as family.
The brother loved his relatives. Each time he came from afar to serve in the meetings, after the meeting in the evening he would always go to visit his elderly and often sick uncle, until the uncle was taken by the Lord. When picking up and dropping off the brother, I always wanted to let him rest a little more, so I would not casually talk with him; yet on the way he would speak some timely words. Once I had a bottleneck in my service and felt that a change was needed; without my having asked any question, I received the answer from the brother's speaking along the way.
Thank the Lord, what I learned from the brother was not only what was on the platform, but even more in my few contacts with him. The brother lived out the reality of reigning in life.
