A Promoter of the Ministry, a Prudent Steward—
a Pattern Like a Cloud, Running the Race Together
Over the past twenty years, several times a year, whether at conferences and trainings in North America or in Taiwan, whenever I met Brother Wu I never failed to greet him and, besides that, to seek his counsel and have fellowship. The content was nothing other than the service of the church and the practice of blending. I was often moved by his sturdy frame, his large-scale vision, and his broad capacity. Several times, what seemed to be a difficulty was deflected by him with the lightest touch, and with encouragement and perfecting I regained my faith!
The work among the students and scholars in North America began in 2003, and he always did his utmost, never missing a single one of them. Together with the co-workers from Taiwan, he tirelessly traveled back and forth, supporting it with all his strength. I remember once, in early 2013, when he was passing through Northern California, in the breakfast fellowship as we saw him off at the airport to return to Taiwan, he mentioned lightly: "In one pocket of my jacket is a big bag of medicine (medicine never leaves my body), and in the other are two pieces of candy (for emergencies when my blood sugar gets too low)…" At that moment I felt much. Brother Wu used his very life and his actions to serve all the churches.
At the end of 2018, after the accident on the flight from Chicago to Los Angeles, I went to the UCLA hospital to visit him. Besides hearing him testify how he experienced the wonderful and mighty power of Christ, what he could not stop thinking about was the promotion of the Collected Works of Witness Lee. He himself also testified that this was the Lord's purpose in keeping him on the earth. At the end of last year, 2019, when I received the first batch of several hundred boxes of the Collected Works sent by sea from Taiwan to Northern California, my heart was full of hymns and praises! The last time I saw Brother Wu was at the end of January this year, at Hall One in Taipei. When we met, besides greetings, what he was still concerned about was the promotion of the Collected Works and the newly purchased blending center in Northern California.
Thank God, Brother Wu was not only a superb promoter of the ministry; he was single toward God, absolute for the Lord, caring for the saints, and faithful for the church. The dear Lord gave such a faithful and prudent good steward to His church, that he might become a pattern to all—like a cloud, running together the heavenly race. Glory be to Him!
