A Broad Entrusting, a Tender Bearing

In 2009, when we mentioned to Brother Wu the need to purchase land and build the India training center, not only did he not oppose it, but he supported the decision! Looking back now, Brother Wu was truly bold; at that time we were only in our early thirties, and our considerations in many matters were not thorough enough, especially since it is quite difficult for foreigners to acquire property in India. Even more, the economic level among the saints in India fell far short of the need to build a training center. Yet, for the perfecting of young people, he was willing to let go and let us venture. He often used the building of the Xinji Building to encourage us, saying, "When we were building the Xinji Building, I was only forty-five. We only thought of getting a loan from the bank and did not want the brothers and sisters to offer…. When Brother Lee heard it, he laughed heartily and said, whoever heard of building a meeting hall without offering!" Every time he told this, he was full of animation, and under his encouragement and support, we went from buying the land to building, until in 2012 the India training center was officially completed.

My wife recalls the summer training of 2017, the year we went together. Brother Wu was, as always, handing out material bags at the entrance of the meeting place. The sister said she really did not understand—in people's eyes, handing out name tags is a small matter; why did Brother Wu have to do everything himself? Yet Brother Wu was always there, because he took joy in serving this ministry and the brothers and sisters in the smallest things.

The next morning, the sister went to the publication stand in Cerritos to buy outlines, and when Brother Wu saw her, he asked whether she knew a certain sister. He then went on to say that this sister had earlier gone overseas to propagate, later returned to Taiwan because of illness, and not long before had been taken by the Lord. After saying these words, he sat there alone, saying nothing. The sister testified that at that moment time seemed to stand still, and Brother Wu's grief was as if he had lost a dear one. She could feel Brother Wu's inward loss and heartache! Brother Wu was just such a broad and tender brother. On the one hand, he was so big that it seemed all people and all the affairs of God's house were within him. On the other hand, he also tenderly placed the brothers and sisters, one by one, upon his heart.
