The Thought of Brother Wu Always Puts One's Heart at Rest
A year after attending the training, I went down to the countryside to pioneer and was sent to Ziguan Township in Kaohsiung County. From time to time Brother Wu Youcheng (吳有成) would come to visit the pioneering team. On one occasion he gathered us together and emphasized again and again that the church in the towns and villages must contact people, must preach the gospel, and absolutely must not keep to ease and comfort. "There are many ways to preach the gospel! Even if you go to buy a watermelon, it should be for the sake of contacting people and preaching the gospel!" In Brother Wu's lively and vivid transmission, I listened utterly dumbfounded, but gradually I came to apprehend the urgency with which the Lord deeply desires to flow Himself out into the midst of people.
During the winter vacation at the beginning of 1994, I joined several hundred saints in attending the New Spring Chinese-speaking conference. That was the first time I went to America, and everything seemed fresh to me. At that time I again saw Brother Wu and the serving ones of the book room serving us again and again during our visiting of the churches and during the conference. The lodging, the three meals a day, the assembling, the setting out, the comings and goings of several hundred saints…
Looking back now, I realize that it was actually a very heavy service. Occasionally a saint would be a few minutes late at the assembling, and I remember Brother Wu telling us very sincerely and weightily, "If you do not exercise to be punctual, if you do not exercise to be true, exact, and earnest, the grace you should have received is lost!" At that moment it was like a lesson to me: so it is that all the outward requirements are to cause us inwardly to receive more grace!
Is it because of this

always gives one an indescribable sense of rest?
