Running Faithfully, Denying Himself for the Lord—
He Loved the Lord and Was Loved by the Lord
I came to know Brother Wu back in 1992 when I attended the life-study training in America. On the many occasions when I went to various places to attend the training for responsible brothers, each time he would hand out the training handouts to everyone, calling each one by name, as familiar with us as if counting his own treasures.
In 2006, when my son Kangben married Xiuxin, the brother came in person to Yonghe to attend; the fellowship lasted three minutes, for he said that he too was limited by time. I saw his humility. I remember he said that he hoped that after their marriage they would go to America, and then often return to Taiwan to contribute what they had learned. Then he went to the wedding banquet, present throughout, supporting the young people—it was deeply moving.
On one occasion, when the saints who had come to Taiwan from the mainland for an international blending were returning home group by group, Brother Wu personally went to the airport to see them off, greeting and encouraging each one, for several hours on end. I happened to meet him at the airport, and I saw the brother serving diligently and laboriously, not leaving it to others—a pattern of hard, solid work.
In 2019, when Yonghe purchased a new meeting hall, we invited the brother to come for fellowship, and he immediately found the time to come. Right there on the site he carefully examined the blueprints, and he also helped us financially.
The brother ran the Lord's pathway, faithful to the very end of the road. He had a character fit for the Lord's use; all his life he denied himself for the Lord. He loved the Lord and was also loved by the Lord.
