Exhausting His Heart and Strength, Devoted unto Death

In 1975, Brother Witness Lee appointed Brother Zhang Wuchen (張晤晨) and Brother Zhang Xiangze (張湘澤) as elders of the Church in Taipei. Every Monday evening they led the brothers who served in the word at the various meeting halls in a perfecting and practicing meeting. In this meeting, the brothers who had a part at that time were greatly perfected.

In 1977, before Brother Lee returned to Taiwan for the conference and training, twelve special services for the conference began in Taipei, along with perfecting meetings for the on-the-job participation of the perfected young people in the service. In that special service, Brother Wu was responsible for the cleaning and decorating group. This was a very heavy work, and throughout the conference Brother Wu and many brothers and sisters coordinated in service, exhausting their heart and strength. Brother Liu Lixi (劉黎曦) and I were in the translation-equipment group.

In 1981, Brother Zhang Xiangze had a great burden to bring the speaking of this portion of Brother Lee's ministry into all the churches in Taiwan as quickly as possible, especially the winter and summer trainings. After fellowship, a video-service group of the Living Stream Ministry station was established in Taipei. In this serving group, Brother Wu and I, together with Liu Lixi and a few other brothers, coordinated in service. The following year this group was merged into the Taiwan Gospel Book Room. During this period, the brother held teaching posts and was very busy with his work, teaching at three schools. Every time, he would rush over to take part in the fellowship. Once, when he was riding his motorcycle, the wheel actually came off. His youngest son was born during this time. Of course, after he took up the work of the Book Room, his entire service and commission became even heavier and more laborious.

In 1992, I came to Cerritos and met Brother Wu once again. In our service here, we had fellowship with Brother Wu in many aspects. We also received much help and supply from Brother Wu. Praise the Lord, He gained and perfected our brother for His recovery. Our brother also, toward the Lord, toward the ministry and the commission, exhausted his heart and strength, devoted unto death.
