Conclusion — The Value of One Who Served the Ministry of the Word and the Work Is Eternal
Brother Lin Hong: Having coordinated with Brother Wu for thirty-five years, when I survey his service, it was not only manifestly effective but also of far-reaching, lasting value. Some may ask: he seemed quite ordinary, so how could this be? I want to testify that Brother Wu truly recognized the ministry and followed it closely. I remember that the Lord's servant Brother Lee once said a word: A man who can neither take the lead nor follow is of no use in the Lord's recovery. This is the real reason that Brother Wu was useful in the Lord's recovery.
He labored in the stream of the ministry of the word in this present age, so that the speaking of the Lord's servant today, through his service, could reach far throughout the entire Chinese-speaking world, even though the Lord had not committed those words to him to speak directly.
He gave heed to the stream of the Holy Spirit in the Lord's work and strove to encourage all the saints to have a part together, so that the churches on the island of Taiwan could have a part in one who served the ministry of the word and the work—whose value is eternal. In the Lord's work throughout the whole earth, from a small Taiwan, the co-workers were actually able to reach nearly fifty countries, including both the East and the West—even though almost none of these works were directly initiated by him.
One who was not himself of the ministry of the word nonetheless had a part in the propagation of the ministry of the word; one who was not himself the direct initiator of the stream of the Holy Spirit nonetheless had a part in the stream of the Holy Spirit.
Brother Wu set up a beautiful pattern for us, so that all our life we may learn well: to follow the ministry closely, to strive to coordinate with the ministry, and truly to be yoked together with the ministry. May the Lord gain us, so that our living and our work, like his, may all have eternal value, and that thereby we may prepare for the Lord's coming back. Amen!
