A Brief Fellowship
concerning Brother Wu's Later Medical History
When Brother Wu began dialysis, he still faithfully fulfilled his function in God's house and continued to fly to the churches around the world to serve the brothers and sisters!
In February 2019, Brother Wu suddenly suffered an ST-elevation myocardial infarction (STEMI) on a plane, and fainted from cardiogenic shock; resuscitation began on the plane! After the plane landed, he was rushed to the nearest medical center's emergency room; after resuscitation, intubation, the emergency placement of two stents, and the installation of ECMO, his condition rapidly stabilized. He woke up but had no memory at all of what had happened, and had no suffering! After discharge, Brother Wu had no cardiac symptoms! He was not short of breath, nor did he have chest tightness; his heart function was even better than before the onset! Truly a miracle!
The blood vessels throughout Brother Wu's body—including the cerebral vessels, the cardiac vessels, and the vessels of the lower limbs—all had severe stenosis. Yet the repeated strokes, heart attacks, intermittent claudication of the lower limbs, and the regular dialysis of recent years could not stop him from continuing to serve the Lord and to labor for the brothers and sisters!
Before we knew it, more than a year had passed since the last heart attack and shock! Truly a miracle!
Recently, Brother Wu's blood pressure had been low; on February 29, 2020, I called to check on him while he was having dialysis, and his blood pressure was very low; but he said his heart was all right, he was not short of breath, had no chest pain, and no chest tightness!
On March 4, 2020, after Brother Wu finished his dialysis, he went to serve in the Xinji Building; toward evening, because of low blood pressure and fatigue, the brothers strongly urged him to be admitted that night to the Taipei Veterans General Hospital. The result was that the electrocardiogram and blood tests suggested another heart attack had occurred, and just as he was about to be transferred to the intensive care unit, his heart suddenly stopped; after three resuscitations, at 3:54 in the early morning of March 5 he rested in the Lord's bosom!
Brother Wu was an overcomer, taken quickly by the Lord without suffering, resting from his work on the earth; he was God's witness, our cloud. May the Lord strengthen us!
