Enter into the Joy of Your Master
Brother Wu was the homeroom teacher of the class next to mine in high school. Every morning I stood about three to five meters from him to attend the all-school flag-raising ceremony, and what I remember deeply is the impression of him singing the flag anthem loudly. In the afternoons I also often saw him playing basketball with the students of the Affiliated High School, and I felt he was a very approachable, good teacher. At that time he was tall and lean, and very nimble in his movements.
I was not yet saved and did not know that he was a Christian; I only felt that this teacher was a bit different from other teachers and loved his students. I had a good friend who was in Brother Wu's class. He told me that Brother Wu taught physics and had once given him a set of Go pieces, encouraging him to study hard.
After I was saved, I gradually came to know Brother Wu. He was broad and gracious toward people. After I went to Russia, he also came to visit us several times, and each time it warmed our hearts. His human care often gave us encouragement.
Brother Wu was like Melchizedek, supplying with bread and wine those who fought for God, and supplying the churches of God. He was also like a general in the Lord's army, always rushing fearlessly to the front line. Seven times a year, as if risking his life, he was a constant attendant at every gathering, becoming a pattern to all the serving ones in Taiwan, and a key factor in safeguarding the oneness of the Body of Christ and being one accord with the Lord's recovery. To say he was a great pillar in the Lord's recovery would not be an overstatement.
I think the Lord may very well say to him: "Well done, good and faithful slave. You were faithful over a few things; I will set you over many things. Enter into the joy of your master." May the Lord gain us, that one day we too may hear our Lord speak the same words to us.
