Narrow Is the Gate, Constricted the Way, and Few Are They
So This Is How a Christian Can Live
When I first met Brother Wu, he seemed very solemn; but once we began to talk, I realized that he was in fact approachable and amiable. His words were down-to-earth yet full of supply; he labored in his service, was astute in his affairs, and his seasoned wisdom commanded admiration. He was truly a pattern to us. So this is how a Christian can live!
During the training for scholars and academics in New Jersey in 2003, I had the opportunity to hear Brother Wu fellowship. On the platform his fellowship was sincere and moving; off the platform he was utterly warm with us, encouraging us, "Come now, come to Taiwan and see; we will receive you." In January 2004 we arrived in Taiwan with a visiting group of scholars and academics to attend the International Chinese-Speaking Conference and to visit the saints in Taiwan. Brother Wu had to arrange the matters of the conference and at the same time care for the visiting saints from many countries—he was, one might say, attending to a thousand affairs every day. When we reached Taipei, several of us saints were received in Hall One, where Brother Tao and Brother Zhai accompanied us. Because of the time difference, we were still excitedly fellowshipping downstairs late at night, and Brother Wu came specially to visit us, to chat with us, to treat us to a late-night supper, and to answer our questions. His care was thorough in every detail and warmed our hearts. This trip to Taiwan caused us to treasure and be even more assured of the ministry in the Lord's recovery; it was an important milestone in our Christian life.
