Shepherding with a Father's and a Mother's Heart;
In the Coordination of the Vital Groups,
Faithful and Diligent
I was saved in 2007 and was recovered in 2015 at the business and professional conference on Jeju Island. By the Lord's calling and the perfecting of the brothers, I have all along been learning to serve in the coordination of the various-sectors gospel. It was precisely in this way that I came to have more contact with Brother Wu, and I deeply sensed the brother's treasuring of us in the business and professional sector, full of burden and entrustment. Whenever there was an opportunity, he would find a way to be together with us, to cherish us, and even more to perfect us.
Brother Wu and the many coordinating brothers were full of wisdom. Seeing the need of the business and professional brothers, who could not leave their work to study, they specially opened a door of grace for us, so that these brothers—who were originally busy with work all day, who had been recovered, and who were willing to serve zealously—could have the opportunity to receive training and be perfected. Truly, thank the Lord! The Full-time Study Class for the middle-aged was like a course privately tailored by Brother Wu for us brothers and sisters in the business and professional sector. Most of us, before being recovered, had no regular church life and were originally "raw and clumsy" in the coordination of the service, often bringing in difficulties. But after one year of the Study Class training, the brothers and sisters all entered into the coordinated service of every aspect of the church, the difficulties diminished, and instead they became a blessing!
Brother Wu and the coordinating brothers first cherished us in our humanity, and then wisely brought us into the divine shepherding, so that the great power of Christ's resurrection might have a way in us. The brothers said this is called "turning what was rotten and decayed into the miraculous"!
On April 27, 2019, not long after Brother Wu had been discharged from the hospital, he flew to Seoul to attend our fellowship. We all prayed for him, both wanting him to come and yet anxious about his health. His one sentence, "I like to be together with you," comforted all our hearts. From the morning to the evening of the twenty-eighth, the brother fellowshipped with us almost without rest in between. He actively participated in every topic of fellowship, not at all like one just recovered from a serious illness. We deeply sensed the brother's concern and entrustment for us. Especially when our fellowship became too "fervent," Brother Wu, with a few words, pulled us back.
The fellowship with Brother Wu let me truly sense what it means that "your lips drip fresh honey; honey and milk are under your tongue"—every sentence supplied life!
Brother Wu's cherishing and feeding of the young brothers, his perfecting of the special services, and his diligence in the church service all became patterns to us! We are willing to learn from the brother, to shepherd the saints with a father's and a mother's heart, to be faithful and diligent in the coordinated service of the vital groups, and to prepare ourselves to welcome the Lord's coming.
