Every Inch of Thought for Others, for the Lord
Full of Grace, Faith, a Spirit of Capacity
Brother Yucheng's physical condition was always struggling in the teeth of the enemy; every time I went to Taipei, or saw him at the winter and summer trainings, my heart thanked and worshipped the Lord. That over these several decades he could remain among us was all the more needful for the saints and the churches. Indeed, Brother Yucheng was an irreplaceable gift the Lord gave to His church.
Not long after the brother's kidney transplant, I saw him again traveling about in the various conferences and trainings in America, and I urged him to rest more and take care of himself. He held a big handful of pills of many different colors and swallowed them with water. Then he said to me lightly, "My time is all borrowed anyway; since the Lord has given it to me, I'll use it as much as I can." Hearing this, my heart was a mix of feelings, not knowing how to advise him. Such a brother, loving the Lord and serving the Lord with all his might, lived every day by faith and by the Lord's grace. Every day he lived counted, running the course the Lord gave him. What a pattern to us all.
Moreover, however many big and small matters the brother bore, I never saw him use a phone or notebook to write them down; every one was kept in his head. More than ten years ago, once at the Cerritos meeting hall in America, just as I was fellowshipping with him, he suddenly received a call to handle the matter of an airplane ticket for a sister in southern Taiwan. He did not take out any tool to look it up but handled it easily. I thought, how big this brother's heart is—however many people, matters, and things he had to handle, he was perfectly clear and never mixed them up. In his heart he absolutely and simply yielded every inch of thought for the Lord, for the saints, for the church, and for the recovery.
The brother is in the ranks of the overcomers; he will surely receive a reward from the Lord, continuing to serve the Lord in the millennial kingdom and reigning over the Lord's kingdom together with the Lord. May the Lord give us also the spirit full of grace, faith, and capacity that He gave the brother, that we may joyfully meet the brother in the millennial kingdom, fellowship well once more, and together serve our dear Lord.
