Our Mouth Is Open to You
Our Heart Is Enlarged
After a setback in my little service, with fear and trembling I made an appointment to fellowship with Brother Wu. Brother Wu was very busy, and the fellowship time was actually set in the gap while he was waiting to see the doctor at the National Taiwan University Hospital. As soon as two in the afternoon came, Brother Wu's figure appeared right on time, and we talked amid the bustling crowd coming and going at the NTU Hospital. I had originally gone over with a heart expecting to be rebuked, yet from the brother I received enlargement and strengthening. On reflection, Brother Wu, in order to avoid the many people coming and going in the office, and also to cover this little one's weakness, did it this way. This was truly a father's heart.
Another unforgettable fellowship was during the New Year period, after the Taipei mass meeting. I used a text message to make an appointment to fellowship with Brother Wu, and he immediately replied and agreed. In the huge bookroom office of Hall One, there were only the two of us, and Brother Wu, dressed in a neatly pressed suit, was waiting for me…. At that time I was complaining and dissatisfied about my immediate environment, and inwardly I was also discouraged and sinking. For about two hours, Brother Wu listened to it all and digested it. In his replies, on the surface there was no encouragement or comfort, but rather solemnity and dignity; in his manner of speaking he maintained the positive and the active, with the seeing and the holding-fast that service ought to have. This turned this little one from the negative to the positive, to go on continually without looking at the difficulties or being governed by moods.
During this period, Brother Wu had dialysis every Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday morning. Actually, during the dialysis process one needs to rest, and it is uncomfortable, yet Brother Wu very much welcomed us to fellowship together with him. In several fellowships, he chatted and laughed, recounting past events, savoring the past, and analyzing the going-on of various places…; all his bearing and words are vivid before my eyes. "Our mouth is open to you, Corinthians; our heart is enlarged." (2 Cor. 6:11)
