The Literature Work and the Spreading of the Ministry

Brother Guo Yongfu: I came to serve in Taiwan Gospel Book Room a few years earlier than Brother Wu, so I have a deep impression of the progress Brother Wu led the book room to make in every aspect. When Brother Wu first came to the book room, he was still teaching school. Often, as soon as a class ended, he would dash to the book room on his motorcycle, and after serving he would dash back to school again on his motorcycle. He was truly a man who gave it his all! Once we went to Kaohsiung to hold a book-and-periodical conference; by the time it ended and we had packed up it was nearly ten o'clock, yet Brother Wu fellowshipped with the saints until one o'clock in the morning. The two of us then took turns driving without stopping all the way back to Taipei, and the next morning at eight we went to work as usual. Brother Wu often gave himself like this.

To put the warehouse in order, Brother Wu often led the whole staff to help with the big move of the books. The force with which Brother Wu threw out a whole box of books was very great; he said only one person could catch it, and that was me. I miss those days of "P.E. class" very much. Recently, while distributing the Collected Works of Witness Lee, at the time of boxing and shipping, Brother Wu still was not absent. He gave it his all to the very last day!

When Brother Wu came to the book room in 1982, he sent the serving ones of the book room to attend the winter training held at the ministry station in Irving, Texas, giving us the opportunity to coordinate and blend with the serving ones of the ministry station in the United States. Later, when Brother Lee held conferences in various places in Taiwan, and in Northeast Asia and Southeast Asia, Brother Wu would bring the serving ones of the book room along to coordinate in the service, broadening our vision and enlarging our capacity.

After 1990, when Brother Lee was no longer able to return to the Far East in time, Brother Wu did his best to bring the saints in Taiwan before the ministry to receive the age's speaking. I helped Brother Wu handle the name lists; each time we went abroad there were more than seven or eight hundred people. Brother Wu did not merely handle the affairs but through this also cared for the situation of the brothers and sisters.

After Brother Wu came to the book room, he often arranged blendings for the responsible brothers and the book-and-periodical serving ones of the churches everywhere, listening to the heart's voice of the serving ones in each place. The churches everywhere also invited the serving ones of the book room for much fellowship. Brother Wu led us to travel everywhere, fellowshipping the riches of the age's ministry.

In 1991, in promoting the Collected Works of Watchman Nee, Brother Wu said that by faith we would print four thousand sets. He led the entire staff of the book room to promote it everywhere; before the first series was even published, eight thousand sets had already been reserved, and it was later reprinted several more times. Brother Wu also led the book room to take part in various large-scale book fairs, serving the riches of the ministry to all the children of God.

The book room has had many breakthroughs in equipment over these years, greatly improving work efficiency. In the early days, when mailing books and packing boxes, we used recycled boxes tied up with hemp rope. As soon as Brother Wu came, he purchased a packing machine, and both the quantity and quality of shipments were greatly enhanced. The computers and audio-visual equipment have advanced day by day all the more. In recent years the book room's audio-visual and electronic products have brought out the new one after another, with everything one could need. In Brother Wu's last few meetings at the book room, he was still continually charging the staff concerning the use of the electronic version of the Collected Works of Witness Lee.

Thank you, Brother Wu, for perfecting us to know the ministry and to coordinate with the ministry. He cared for us in every aspect, even caring for our next generation. We will forever remember him.
