In 1982 Brother Wu began the service of the book room, taking the brothers and sisters of the book room to America to attend the winter and summer trainings. In the summer, at Anaheim, California, they blended with the saints serving at the ministry station. In the winter, at the Irving ministry station in Texas, they saw a group of servants who treasured the ministry, and they learned their attitude of service and their positive spirit. This deeply influenced the colleagues of the book room, causing them to treasure all the more the service of this ministry.
Brother Wu often held the island-wide fellowship of the literature ministry of Taiwan, inviting the responsible brothers and the literature servants from the various localities to attend. Through this he came to know the saints serving in the literature work in the various places, who had faithfully labored in service for many years, and they shared the things they had gained. The literature service is not the selling of books; it begins with sharing the riches of the Lord's word, and in the fellowship of life, all together receive the vision and commission of the service, are renewed and strengthened, and side by side spread the Lord's word.
Many people whom I found troublesome were not troublesome to Brother Wu; moreover, he would cause their virtues and strong points to be manifested and used in the Lord's work or wherever there was a need. Some people were still very troublesome, and he simply went on serving them. He could fellowship with anyone—truly a gift God gave to the church.
Brother Wu's attitude in serving people was beyond what anyone could match: when brothers and sisters had trouble, he fellowshipped with them; when they quarreled, he reconciled them; when they were hospitalized, he visited them; when they married, he officiated; at their wedding feasts, he attended; at their rest, he testified—and added to all this were the regular meetings of all the meeting halls, the elders' meetings, the special fellowships, the fellowship with the responsible ones of the large districts, the gospel work of Taiwan, the whole of Taiwan…. How could this possibly be a service within the reach of an ordinary man? Praise the Lord.
