Brother Wu, Who Slept in the Bookroom Instead of the Bedroom
During the Spring Festival period of 2010, my parents and I, our whole family, went to Taiwan to blend. As soon as we came out of Taoyuan Airport in Taipei, we met the local saints warmly receiving us at the airport. In the days that followed, we went one after another to the churches in Taichung, Tainan, Taipei, and other places to visit and blend.
While blending at the church in Taipei, because they considered that we had come together as a family, the local saints arranged for our family to rest at the meeting hall. In the evening, after eating and meeting, when we returned to the place to sleep and had tidied our things inside, I walked out to the corridor to look around, and just then ran into Brother Wu; only then did I learn that Brother Wu had himself moved to the bookroom to sleep, giving up the bedroom he had used for his own rest to us.
We all greeted and said hello to one another in the corridor—very simple and joyful. Although we had never met before, having at most seen the brother at the video training or the pray-reading-studying-memorizing-speaking, yet we were all in Christ, having Christ together as life, and so there was no strangeness; we were one family. My father was a bit chubby, and Brother Wu was likewise a bit chubby; the two of them patted each other's belly and then laughed heartily, and at once became fast friends.
I always felt that Brother Wu and many serving co-workers were very willing to "waste time" on us saints who came to blend. I remember a small matter: after blending in Taiwan, we set off for the airport to return. An older sister, after arriving at the airport, found that her phone was missing. To be honest, the older sister only mentioned it in passing. Somehow Brother Wu learned of it, and before long a serving saint actually went back specially to help the sister retrieve her phone—it was deeply moving.
