Bearing Service on His Shoulders, Serving People with Joy
In 1979, having been perfected by the brothers, I was assigned to learn to coordinate in serving with the propagation group. At that time, several brothers and sisters in Hall Seven in Taipei faithfully went out each week to the various towns and villages to preach the gospel and build up the church. Still fresh in my memory are the older brother Liu Zhicheng (劉治成) and the young brother Li Guanghong (李光弘), who would take several brothers and sisters—with Brother Guanghong driving the gospel van—and, rain or shine, week after week, after praying at the hall, would go out full of joy to spread the gospel.
One day our group drove to Hall One in Taipei, and at the entrance of the hall I met Brother Wu for the first time. He warmly welcomed us; his lively conversation and his hearty, resounding voice, as I recall them now, seem as if from only yesterday.
Later, when the church in Tampa, Florida, purchased a new meeting hall and needed to buy chairs, we again turned to Brother Wu to handle the matter, and he was always able to accomplish what was entrusted to him within the set time. Afterward, when going to meetings in various places, I would see the same chairs, and one can imagine how many busy affairs he bore upon his shoulders. What moved me most was his joyful, assured countenance, which always gave people a sense of stability and strength.
