The Churches in New Jersey

A Fragrant Drink Offering That Satisfies God, Out of the Ambition to Please the Lord

In 1996 our elder Brother Wu, together with the Taiwan co-workers' team, came to New Jersey and conducted the first perfecting training for the core serving ones, helping the saints to know the apostles' teaching and the ministry of the age, and—through being constituted with the word of God—to actively preach the gospel to spread the Body of Christ and to bring in a flourishing resurrection. From then on the increase of the churches in New Jersey entered a new phase.

Brother Wu also made an outstanding contribution to the summer perfecting training for the gospel among the mainland scholars. From 2003 to 2015 he personally led the Taiwan co-workers to New Jersey year after year to strengthen and fan the flame, leading the co-workers and the churches with a keen and aggressive spirit to coordinate with the work of the Holy Spirit, so that the Holy Spirit moved people's hearts. The work of resolute, absolute consecration quickly spread throughout North America and spread to the island of Taiwan and even the entire Chinese-speaking world, with a great and far-reaching impact.

To help the students and scholars in North America enter into the ministry and know the truth, our elder Brother Wu assisted Brother Yu and, in early 2001, established the Simplified-Chinese Publication Office in New Jersey. He donated a full set of the traditional-character ministry books, established the standards for the office's service, and personally perfected the serving ones. After more than ten years of coordinated service with Living Stream Ministry and the Taiwan Gospel Book Room, the Simplified-Chinese Publication Office in New Jersey digitized and converted into simplified characters all the publications of the ministry of the Lord's recovery. This brought great convenience and blessing to readers of simplified characters and also to the later promotion of the ministry's publications through online platforms. Readers of simplified characters among God's children throughout the earth all remember with gratitude our elder Brother Wu's vision, magnanimity, and faithful service.

He always had the propagation and increase of the churches in New Jersey on his heart. Besides taking the opportunities to perfect us personally, he also, in the fellowship among the co-workers, invited seasoned co-workers highly respected by all the churches to come regularly to New Jersey to actually lead, promote, and train. We increased from three churches in 2007 to ten churches in 2016, and our elder Brother Wu's strong help was absolutely indispensable. In addition, he often cared for the purchase and building of our various meeting halls, leading us in many ways and supplying generously.

May this fragrant drink offering satisfy God, and may it all the more inspire us to imitate the brother's ambition to please the Lord at any cost, and to run together the course that lies ahead!
