Encouraging, Blessing, Stirring Up, Following
Beginning in 2015, the blending brothers of the church in HZ went to fellowship with Brother Wu and several other blending brothers, and Brother Wu gave us much substantial help.
At the end of 2016, he personally came to HZ to have fellowship with us. He gave us timely teaching and let us see that there is only one church in a city, and that we need to be the Lord's unique expression and testimony on the earth. During these years, whenever we ran into difficulties in our service in the church life and went to fellowship with the brother, he would always teach us and help us according to this ministry, bringing the brothers into being one in heart and soul, building up one another in coordination.
In 2015, when I attended the business and professional gospel fellowship, I was at last able to meet and fellowship with Brother Wu. In May the brother arranged for several of us brothers to coordinate together. At that time he encouraged us: "Do it with peace, do it boldly; whatever happens, we will support you. Whether it is right or wrong does not matter—keep on exercising." What a heart-warming encouragement, engraved upon my heart!
In October 2015, at the healthy-new-life blending, I sat beside him, and he said that he had never seen the business, professional, and various-sectors gospel so burning hot. At that time Brother Wu was beside me counting the number of those being baptized—"one, two, three, four, five…"—and the sound still rings in my ears. Brother Wu's support for us made manifest that the gospel is victorious! Christ is victorious!
In the years that followed, 2016 and 2017, Brother Wu supported, cherished, and shepherded us year after year.
In November 2018, we attended the second term of the Full-time Study Class. In the summer of 2019, Brother Wu, with a drainage tube fastened at his waist and in his hand the container connected to the drainage tube, rode two hours by car to Taichung to teach us and release a message. At that time we were truly moved to tears. He was truly a good brother who loved the Lord; thus, with one hand holding the drainage container and the other hand bracing against the wall, he went up to the platform and spoke to us for fifteen minutes, encouraging us to redeem the time and to be constituted with the truth—to be constituted not only with Brother Nee's collected works and the Life-studies, but also with the complete Collected Works of Brother Lee.
In August 2019, when I attended the training for co-workers and elders, I saw Brother Wu again, and it was the same situation. Brother Wu spoke for more than ten minutes, full of supply. At the end we sang the hymn "Arriving at Zion": "Laboring in love, ceaselessly co-working; following in the flow, one in soul and heart. The gospel of the kingdom spread throughout the earth, building up Zion to welcome Your return." He hoped that the brothers would catch up with the flow. "Next time we meet, do not speak of 'falling short, falling short'! Just press on to catch up; just speak of closely following in the flow." These words left a deep impression and are unforgettable.
In 2015 he led us in singing Hymn 342, "Living for Jesus." As soon as the hymn was sung, a dozen or so began to consecrate themselves, and immediately thirty, fifty, a hundred surged forward, until the whole gathering consecrated themselves. We were deeply touched by the Lord's word, and encouraged by Brother Wu's word, we all wept!
While the brother lived, he gave us encouragement and blessing; now that he has departed, he stirs us up all the more to press on and to follow!
