Full Consecration, Laboring with All His Might, Striving in Service

The first time I saw Brother Wu was because, before I was to marry my wife—who served full-time at Hall One—she took me to the Gospel Book Room to visit Brother Wu. My wife said Brother Wu was an elder of the church in Taipei, and meeting an elder made me a little nervous. At that time, as soon as Brother Wu saw me, he patted my shoulder and said, "You're taking Sister Bihua away; I had wanted to ask Sister Bihua to keep you at Hall One." This was the first time I saw how approachable the elder brother was.

Later I joined the responsible brothers of the church in Taipei to learn coordination, and at the monthly meeting of the elders and responsible brothers of the church in Taipei, the brothers all loved to hear the elder brother's fellowship and to coordinate in one accord in the various actions of the church in Taipei. The elders and responsible brothers of the church in Taipei numbered over two hundred, and Brother Wu could call out the names of most of them—this was not merely because Brother Wu's memory was good, but because the elder brother truly cared for the need of every brother and every meeting hall.

Brother Wu cared very much for the propagation on the college campuses, often saying it would be good to build up the Chengchi University campus, even personally coming to Chengchi to chair a seminar. When Hall 42 purchased and established its new meeting hall, Brother Wu specially invited all the responsible brothers to come to Hall 42 to blend and dine together, and specially came to attend Hall 42's concentrated Lord's Day, encouraging the community saints of Hall 42 to open their homes like Sister Wang to shepherd and gain young people. Toward newly established meeting halls and young serving brothers, the elder brother also often encouraged and supported, but there were also times of strict requirement, by which we young brothers were greatly perfected.
