A Blessing to the Churches
On December 15, 2018, I went to Chicago to attend the memorial meeting for Jim Reetzke, and to my surprise and joy I saw Brother Wu. After the memorial meeting, my son and I drove Brother Wu, his wife, his youngest son, and his youngest son's fiancée to a hotel near the University of Chicago, and we said goodbye to one another. The next day I heard of the incident that happened to him on the flight back to Los Angeles, and my wife and I hurried to the UCLA hospital to visit him. During our subsequent visit, he regained consciousness, and we had some conversation. He told me that during his accident, it was as if he had seen the Lord, and he again consecrated himself to the Lord. At that time, the Lord did not let him leave the world to go to Him; a year or so later, the Lord considered it the time for him to rest from all his labor and responsibility. This is far better for him, but those of us who remain truly miss him.
I do not wish to repeat the many beautiful services the Lord rendered through our brother; I only want to mention a small matter. When we were building the Arcadia meeting hall, he and Brother Lin Hong (林鴻) came to visit us and offered six hundred sturdy and comfortable chairs. What a blessing this was to the churches in our West Valley. Every time we sit on them to fellowship and gather, we often think of our brother.
His heart's resolve to restore the fellowship with the brothers in South America is another thing that gave me much feeling and that I have found hard to forget. May the Lord open the way for His own testimony, show more mercy, and give us more fellowship.
Brother Wu, we will see one another in glory! Praise the Lord!
