Meticulous in His Doings, Gentle toward Others;
Efficient, Seeking Results
In my impression, Brother Wu was a leading brother burdened with a myriad of affairs, and an ordinary brother like me in the church life should not have had much contact with him.
On one occasion Brother Wu shared with us an experience. In the early years, when Brother Witness Lee returned to Taiwan, he once sat on a chair at Hall One. As soon as he sat down he found the chair too high, and he mentioned it to Brother Wu. That very night, Brother Wu found a young brother to coordinate with him, used a cutting machine, and in one night sawed short all four legs of the several hundred metal chairs in the meeting hall, so that they would be suitable for the saints to use in the meetings. This was an extremely small matter in daily life, yet it shows Brother Wu's attitude of laboring to the uttermost in his service—doing things efficiently and seeking results.
In the second year of the full-time training, when we went to America for the migratory training, the brother came to the training center to give the trainees a briefing. We were divided into three teams, each with a different forty-day itinerary and set of locations. The brother explained each one, and all the place names and itineraries were kept in his mind—so thorough in every detail that it was truly admirable. The brother was large in build, yet meticulous in his doings, gentle toward others, and loving toward the brothers and sisters. Even later, at the winter training, Brother Wu personally waited in the room for the brothers and sisters to come and pick up their boxed meals.
