Kind and Approachable; Shepherding unto Blessing
The impression Brother Wu gave us was that he was kind and approachable, putting no pressure on people. I remember he said, "If you have any problem, just come and fellowship with me." Later, on the several occasions when we returned to Taiwan, my brother would write directly by email to ask Brother Wu whether he could arrange hospitality. Brother Wu always replied to us very quickly. We addressed him as "Brother Wu," yet in his reply he wrote "Youcheng"—this truly let us feel deeply his sincerity, and that there was no distance at all between us. During our stay in Taipei, there was always one evening on which he would treat us to a meal.
Once, upon boarding the airplane, we saw Brother Wu seated one row behind us, with the seat beside him empty. Brother Wu said to my brother, "You may come over and sit here too." At the time my brother, considering letting him be more comfortable, did not go over to sit; afterward he greatly regretted it, having missed the chance to fellowship intimately with Brother Wu.
In 2015, when we returned to Taiwan to attend the International Chinese-speaking Conference, at a large meal gathering of the brothers and sisters, we saw Brother Wu carrying several boxes of pineapple cakes in his hands to give to the brothers and sisters who had come from overseas. Among so many people, he caught sight of us from afar, walked over, and gave a box to us. Although the times we saw one another face to face were not many, on each occasion we received Brother Wu's shepherding—how blessed we were.
