Raising Up Young People to Be Kindling;
Serving All the Saints with Supply
In the earlier years, during the perfecting training in New Jersey, the group leaders would all go to the second floor of the meeting hall to pray at six o'clock every morning. And each time, Brother Wu would always arrive at the meeting hall punctually at six to pray together with us younger brothers, supporting us in spirit. At that time Brother Wu would always encourage the younger brothers to sit in an inner circle, while he and the other older brothers sat on the outer rim, supporting our prayer. Although we were all still very young in spiritual life at that time, Brother Wu always encouraged us to have the spirit of taking up the family responsibility, to be kindling. And when Brother Wu testified in the training that, though he had suffered three strokes, he still wanted to bear testimony for the Lord and still wanted to experience God's grace, it always made us shed tears amid our joy, and the more firmly settled us to go on in the pathway of following this ministry. That we today can have a part in the propagation of this ministry, and coordinate in service in the church, is truly owing to the perfecting of Brother Wu and the brothers.
What left a deep impression on me was that Brother Wu, in his service, always poured out everything to the Lord. Even in some services that "looked very small," Brother Wu always did them personally, full of tender love for the brothers and sisters. I remember once at a training in Anaheim, when I came to the venue, I saw from afar Brother Wu coordinating together with other young saints to hand out name badges and training materials, joyfully and warmly greeting the brothers and sisters who came to the training. At the International Chinese-Speaking Conference in Taipei in 2018, after the conference ended on the last day, Brother Wu, at the venue, bade farewell one by one to the brothers and sisters from overseas, until the very end. The last time I saw Brother Wu was during the winter training last year. At that time we were doing pray-reading, studying, reciting, and prophesying at the church in Cerritos at past six o'clock every morning. I remember that the first day we came to the church in Cerritos to take part in the pray-reading, studying, reciting, and prophesying, the sky was only faintly lit. But when we arrived at the meeting hall, Brother Wu was already there, coordinating together with the brothers and sisters in the service of the books and periodicals—the crystallization-study outlines for the winter training. During the pray-reading, studying, reciting, and prophesying, Brother Wu quietly came in and sat down. When a brother saw him, he immediately stood up, wanting to give his seat to Brother Wu, but Brother Wu hurriedly waved his hand. Just so, Brother Wu, heedless of the time difference and the weakness of his body, persisted in listening through the first session of the pray-reading, studying, reciting, and prophesying. During breakfast, when I met Brother Wu, I said from my heart, "Thank you, brothers, for coming from Taiwan every training to support us." Brother Wu, full of joy, said with a smile, "Every training is an opportunity to blend with everyone—I'm so happy!" In Brother Wu's service there was truly the full love of Christ and the supply of the life of Christ.
