Mohe in the North—Preaching the Gospel in Yurts and Manifesting the Glory
In 2006, responding to the Lord's call, I laid down my profession to learn to serve. From the older brothers I would often hear how Brother Wu served the gospel book room, served the churches, and served, besides these, countless individual brothers and sisters. I often saw Brother Wu dragging along his seriously ailing body, busy within and without, and I wondered what kind of power was sustaining him. He truly was one who counted not his life as dear, nor regarded it as precious—a man who loved the Lord. Of course it was because the brother loved the Lord; he was just such a Paul, ever running with all his might for the sake of the commission entrusted to him by the Lord!
The longest time we contacted our dear Brother Wu was in August 2010, when we were pioneering the gospel in Outer Mongolia. The brother asked the Lord for one hundred to be saved; we prayed urgently before the Lord, and especially when Brother Wu came to join us, our hearts were all the more assured and settled that the Lord would surely accomplish it! All of us went out into the streets to invite people to hear the gospel, which was truly an unprecedented undertaking in that place. We were all high in spirit, sensing the Lord's incomparable presence and blessing. The people of Outer Mongolia are simple in custom and pure in heart, and after one gospel meeting there would be thirty to forty people baptized. None of the homes of the brothers and sisters in Ulaanbaatar had a bathtub, and the meeting hall was merely a yurt. So Brother Wu, with one grand wave of his hand, said, "Rent two large school buses, drive them to the riverside, and we will baptize them in the river!" In the short span of six days, together with sixty to seventy local saints we served and baptized ninety-nine new ones; the last was the driver who had driven for us on the sixth day, who also was saved, only that there was no time for him to be baptized. During those several days of intensive gospel activity, with Brother Wu's presence leading us to spread the gospel and also shepherding us, joy truly overflowed, and we moved like an army of God in victory!
