The Travail Began and My Heart Was Settled

Taken by the Lord, the Glory Beyond Compare

Brother Wu was a heavyweight figure—whether in his physical build and weight or in his various services; he often spoke in a startling way, full of humor and wit. The one whom the Lord chooses is always the best. Looking at his life—all along nurtured and trained by the Lord—he willingly and gladly, without complaint or regret, finished the course that was set before him and fought the fight that was his to fight!

This batch of us entered the church life after the year 2000. Occasionally we saw him at the conferences: he was seasoned in wisdom, a veteran making his move, mighty in power. At the perfecting training in New Jersey, he not only gave his full support but also accompanied us from morning till night. Dragging along his weary body, he often seemed already to have fallen asleep, yet in his spirit he was watchful. The moment he stepped onto the platform, he immediately entered into his spirit; earnest and weighty, teaching us patiently, taking pains, sincere and heartfelt—it can hardly be forgotten. To us of this generation who received the benefit, it has become a help for our whole life.

I attended the autumn FTTT class in Taiwan in 2015. When he was teaching us and I greeted him, he said, "So you have finally come." Striking right to the point, sparing no one! He was a man of flesh and blood, and also a man with sickness and pain, but even more he had the treasure in his earthen vessel, with the excelling power; he truly was a God-man. The brother has gone, but the seed of life that he sowed bears fruit a hundredfold! It stirs up our generation to advance valiantly, to run the course, to be solid and aspiring, and to carry on the testimony.
