Wholly Faithful for God's House

My eldest brother Yucheng was a man not skilled in words, not eloquent in speech, yet he was a pattern of one willing to lower his shoulder to bear a load and to do hard labor; in the things the Lord entrusted to him, he was faithful and laboring.

Thank the Lord that, out of God's rich mercy and grace, my brother Yucheng was gained for a whole life—born in the Lord's recovery, growing up under the watering of the ministry of the age, chosen and separated by God to serve the Lord and His glorious church singly. What a valuable life, remembered and counted by the Lord!

Two days ago, elder Brother Zijian (子建) took me to fellowship with Brother Yu Jielin (余潔麟) about the arrangements for Yucheng's memorial meeting. Brother Yu's first words were: "Yucheng and I were brothers in distress together in serving the Lord and spreading the ministry"; then he said, "Among all of Yucheng's services, the most important was bringing the churches and saints on the island of Taiwan into the fellowship of the ministry."

Indeed, from 1982 when Yucheng entered into the service in the Gospel Book Room, and from 1985 when he entered into the full-time service, for more than thirty years Yucheng faithfully and laboriously promoted the blending of the churches in Taiwan and the United States, so that the saints on the island of Taiwan could steadfastly and continually enter into the fellowship of the ministry and enjoy the Lord's instant speaking and the divine flow. Yucheng was faithful to the commission of the ministry, and laboriously yet joyfully carried out the work the Lord led through Brother Lee. This can be seen in his promotion of the speaking of the ministry, in the move of the five-year gospelization of Taiwan, in the purchase and building of the land in Linkou and of the Xinji Building, in his coordinating action in the gospel propagation in Russia, in his strengthening of the blending of the co-workers and full-timers on the island of Taiwan, in his promotion of the regular yearly brothers' blending and sisters' blending throughout Taiwan, in his promotion of the Collected Works of Watchman Nee and the Collected Works of Witness Lee, in his promotion of the move to expand the church in Taipei to one hundred meeting halls, and also in his participation in such actions as the students-and-scholars perfecting training in New Jersey mentioned by Brother Guanghui, the LMA, and the business-and-industry gospel—in all of which his characteristic of lowering his shoulder to bear a load and his diligent labor were manifested.

Thank the Lord for being merciful to him, letting him sleep in the Lord's bosom, resting from all his labor on the earth, awaiting the Lord's coming, to receive His approval and reward. May the Lord also be merciful to us, that we may, like our brother, steadfastly, continually, and faithfully follow the Lord and serve Him to the end of the road.
