Diligent · Consecrated · Devoting Himself Utterly
In 1997, when I moved my whole family to the southern islands of the Philippines to propagate, before I went, elder Brother Wu clearly pointed out the direction of my service. At that time, though I was full of zeal, I was still quite ignorant about overseas propagation. The elder brother gave me two concise commissions—the literature work and the youth work. He also taught me three principles of service: be diligent, be consecrated, and do not flatter the rich.
At that time the southern Philippines was experiencing the disturbance of a spiritual storm; the elder brother observed that the cause was not eating and drinking the Lord and enjoying the Lord enough. So he charged me first to enter into the service of the Philippines Gospel Book Room, to fully provide the spiritual publications of the ministry. Second, he encouraged me to start a youth training, to raise up a next generation that could pursue and be shaped.
Brother Wu was a prudent and faithful good steward of the Lord; he never spared himself in perfecting a little brother like me. After establishing a Gospel Book Room in Iligan in the southern Philippines, the elder brother even came from afar to visit us. When Sister Ke said that Brother Ke was very busy and often not at home, you said with a smile, "His busyness is still far from mine." When we heard it, we all laughed! Indeed it was so!
In our pioneering toil to build the Ozamiz training center, the elder brother and the churches on the island of Taiwan also helped financially. Now more than three thousand young people have been trained. Thank the Lord, and thank Brother Wu for his perfecting and leading!
At the elder brother's sickbed, saints often fellowshipped with him about the situation of the churches in various places, and I was one of them. He was always kindly and gentle, disregarding his own sickness, devoting himself utterly in service.
