An Excellent Pattern of Following the Ministry

I coordinated closely with Brother Wu for nearly thirty-five years. Surveying his service, not only were the results manifest, but they also have lasting value. Some may ask: he seemed quite ordinary; how could he have such an accomplishment? I would testify that this was entirely because he affirmed the ministry and closely followed it. I remember the Lord's servant Brother Witness Lee once said: a person who can neither take the lead nor follow is of no use in the Lord's recovery. This is exactly the reason Brother Wu was blessed in the Lord's recovery.

He worked in the flow of the word of the ministry of this present age, so that the speaking of the Lord's servant today, through his service, could reach the entire Chinese-speaking world, even though those words were not directly entrusted by the Lord to him to speak.

He worked in the flow of the work of the Holy Spirit of this present age, so that the leading of the Lord's servant today, through his service, enabled the co-workers of one small island of Taiwan to reach nearly fifty countries, including the East and the West—even though almost none of these works was directly initiated by him.

A man who was not himself the word ministry yet greatly spread the ministry of the word; a man who was not himself the bringer-in of the flow of the Holy Spirit yet let the flow of the Holy Spirit surge and flow.

Brother Wu set up for us an excellent and beautiful pattern from which we can learn well for our whole life: to closely follow and to labor to be one with the ministry, truly bearing the same yoke with the ministry. May the Lord gain us, so that our living and our work, like his, may have eternal value, that we may thereby prepare for the Lord's coming back. Amen!
