In 2014, when Brother Wu Yucheng accompanied Brother Lin Zilong (林子隆) of Fuqing in visiting the churches in Taiwan, at one meeting in the Central Taiwan Blending Center, Brother Lin fellowshipped that the churches in Taiwan already had a history of more than sixty years; though there had been some difficulties in the past, the Lord had carried them all through, and Taiwan had also become a nursery of the Lord's recovery, producing many vessels useful to the Lord.
Before the close of the meeting, Brother Wu Yucheng asked the saints to raise questions, and this little one asked a very immature question: How did you experience the cross of the Lord in an environment of persecution? Such a question, coming from a little one whose life was not very mature, seen through the eyes of the seasoned elder Brother Lin Zilong, was truly shallow. In the meeting Brother Wu answered this little one in the somewhat reproving tone of the elder Lin Zilong (Brother Lin Zilong's experience of the cross—enduring persecution for the Lord's name in prison, and the pattern of his God-man living, with clothes mended and patched again—comes alive in my heart). Recalling it now, I truly feel ashamed.
Brother Wu's faithful labor in the Lord is a living pattern for the saints; he was a slave and steward faithful to what God had committed to him, dispensing food at the proper time. He was a laboring farmer who would win the glorious crown, a soldier of Christ Jesus, an unashamed workman cutting straight the word of truth, also a runner racing the Lord's course on the field, and even more a teacher teaching the words of life concerning God's eternal economy. Brother Wu's pattern of pouring out his whole being for the Lord, not loving his own soul-life, is deeply planted in my heart.
